Public Archaeological Dig Day at SERC

Saturday, August 11^th   (10:30-12 and 12:30-2)

Interested in exploring local history while engaging with active science?  Join a professionally led archaeological team conducting an excavation around SERC’s 1841 Homestead House as they unravel the history of the site.  Learn the basics of archaeological field methods as you sift screen for artifacts.  No experience required.

This free program is open to ages 10 and up; children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.  If interested, please contact volunteer coordinator Julia Elkin at elkinj@si.edu to register for a time slot and receive further details.  You must be registered to participate.
