Healthy Dish Competition and Screening of the HBO Documentary The Weight of the Nation
ACHI (Annapolis Community Health Initiative) presents a Healthy Dish Competition and a Screening of Part 3 (Children in Crisis) of the HBO documentary The Weight of the Nation - all FREE to the community on Friday, January 11th from 6pm - 8:30pm at the Roger "Pip" Moyer Recreation Center at Truxtun Park in Annapolis.
Attendees will sample dishes from each chef and vote for their favorite. The winning dish/chef will be announced at the end of the movie screening.
Competing chefs and dishes are:
Chef Carla Lucente (b.b. bistro) - Herbed Chicken Breast with Quinoa Salad
Chef David Kidwell (Metropolitan) - Grilled Artic Char with Ginger Mustard Sauce over Baby Bok Choy and Hen of Woods Mushrooms
Chef James Barret (Azure) - Crab Salad with Wasabi Cream
In addition to the tasting and movie screening, there will be door prizes and vendor tables.

The Roger W. "Pip" Moyer Community Recreation Center offers activates for all members of the family. It features a 3,000+ square foot fitness center with strength and cardio equipment; a rock-climbing wall; three gymnasium courts for basketball, volleyball and open gym; an elevated four-lane running track; locker rooms with showers, multipurpose rooms; a kitchen; rooms for dance and exercise classes and more. It also offers Kidz Zone babysitting for children ages 4 months through 12 years.
