Update (5:30 p.m. 10/29)—Heavy winds and torrential rain is continually making its way into the region.

As intense weather increases, so do the number of outages reported by BGE in the area. Across Edgewater, Davidsonville and south county, as many as 3,315 BGE customers are without power, according to their website.

There have not been many road closures, but that could change as Hurricane Sandy’s strong winds get closer and closer to our town.

In terms of business closings, many were open early in the afternoon, including gas stations, eateries and coffee shops. However, most have since closed their doors and could remain closed throughout Tuesday.

As of 5:30 p.m., nearly 5,000 BGE customers were without electricity throughout Anne Arundel County.
