Over the last few weeks, the 26-year-old from Riva has been capturing the hearts of The X Factor fans and judges alike. He entered the competition to become a star and hopefully reconnect with his birth mother—something that’s been a goal since he was young, he said on the show.
It was a performance good enough to advance Correy to the show’s final list of 16 singers.
Prior to singing, Correy said he was too focused to let nerves bother him.
“It this competition, forget pressure—it’s do or die,” said Correy.
Last week following Correy’s cover of Domino, the judges were singing his praises.
“There were just some notes that were just like, I don’t know, they were giving be chill bumps,” Reid said.
“I thought he was great,” Bieber said. “I think the voice was there, I think he’s got a look to him … I think he can go far.”
Not knowing the judges were supremely impressed with his performance, Correy told that camera that he felt like he did the best he could.
“I gave them all of me. And at the end of the day I can go home and live with that. If they do decide to pick me, I’m going to go 20 times harder than I’ve been going so far.
Moving forward, Correy will continue to compete against the other 15 finalists to potentially become the next big thing in pop music.
