Police: Man Steals Car, Burglarizes Home in Edgewater

A man reportedly stole a woman's keys and her car at the Maryland Live! casino, then drove to Edgewater and burglarized her home.

Police used a stun gun to subdue and arrest a man for allegedly stealing a car and burglarizing a home in Edgewater on Wednesday night, according to police.

According to press release from Anne Arundel County police, a man allegedly took a woman’s keys at the Maryland Live! casino in Hanover and stole her car, drove it to Edgewater and burglarized her home.

Police charged Daniel Lee Miller, 50, of the 2600 block of Fairview Ave. in connection with the incident.

At around 6:06 p.m. Wednesday, western district police officers responded to the 7000 block of Arundel Mills Circle in Hanover for a report of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, officers spoke to a woman who said she lost her house and car keys inside the casino and then later realized her car was missing, according to police.

Officers learned her car was somewhere near her home on the 200 block of Night Haven Court, in the Colony Crossing community in Edgewater.

Southern district police went to the woman’s home to look for the stolen vehicle and one of the officers saw a man carrying property from the victim’s residence, according to the release.  Police ordered the man to stop but he refused and struggled with an officer who then used a stun gun to subdue the suspect, police said.

Officers recovered property taken from the woman’s home as well as her car, according to the release.

If they would put this much effort in trying to get a job as they did the crime we would not have an overpopulated prison system. Get a job!

Kudos go out to the Anne Arundel County police for responding and acting so quickly in this matter. They have saved the victim a lot of loss and grief dealing with stolen property, and have gotten another criminal of our streets.

Did she have her address on her key ring or were these two together? Something is not adding up here. Sounds to me like he wanted to leave and as usual this woman wanted to argue and he finally had enough and moved his stuff out.

Are you "suggesting" that they were a couple???? No where in the article did I EVER get that idea that they were together and he got irritated and wanted to leave. Also if that's "was" the case, why would police arrest him for taking his own stuff out of her house.....

You have a point, just cause it's not in the article doesn't mean its not possible. But its just too much isn't it? for him to be moving his stuff out? I dunno, maybe not.

Maybe her car had GPS in it and she had her "home" destination programmed

Way To go Lojack. Good lesson in never putting home address in GPS. Great police work.
