As I've stated several times, autumn is my favorite season of the year.

With temperatures getting lower and lower, local trees are changing from bright green to a variety of red, yellow and orange hues.

Patch reader and local photographer Donna L. Cole snapped this photo of the seasonal transition of color. For me, it looks more like something out of a J.R.R. Tolkien novel than a nearby pond. But it's images like this that keep me coming back to fall as my favorite time of the year.

Enjoy Cole's photo, and let me know if there is another spot around town that truly captures the fall season.
