PHOTO: 'Mater' Lives in South County
After finding this old truck, I was left wondering where I could find "Lightning McQueen."

I found this old, weathered truck off Maryalnd Route 214 and I immediately thought of "Mater" from the Disney Pixar "Cars" movies.

While covering an event in south county last week, I stumbled across a remarkable old Ford truck off Maryland Route 214.
After passing it once, I turned around to snag a few photos of this nostalgic vehicle in Davidsonville.
It wasn't until a few days later that I realized the old truck resembled Mater, a character from Disney Pixar's Cars movies.
Tell us what you think of the old truck. Does it remind you of Mater?

I drive by this truck all the time. It is parked at Miller's Service station just east of Homestead Gardens. I have often thought it looked just like Mater.

When my 4 yr old daughter found out a car ran into the building there last week, first thing she asked was "is Mater okay"

I pass that truck several times a day and have always said that it could be Mater from Cars.
