Overnight Harwood Crash Leaves One Dead

Edgewater man ejected from car during rollover crash on Polling House Road.

At about 3:30 a.m. Thursday, an Edgewater man was killed when he was thrown from his car during a single-vehicle rollover accident on Polling House Road in Harwood, according to a report from Anne Arundel County Police.

The victim was Daniel John Sohovich, II, 23, of the 2100 block of Millhaven Drive in Edgewater. No other cars or passengers were involved in the incident.

Sohovich was driving a 2003 Toyota Solara east on Polling House Road in Harwood near Windsor Farm Road, according to the report. The driver failed to negotiate a turn in the road and lost control. The car then struck a guardrail and left the roadway, overturning in a wooded area. Sohovich was ejected and suffered life-threatening injuries.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire Department Paramedics, police said.

Police said the preliminary investigation indicates that speed appears to be a contributing factor in the crash. Southern District police will continue to investigate the incident.
