New Thrift Shop Opens to Help Citizens in Need

The Anne Arundel County Thrift Store operates to specifically help foster families, teen moms and battered women.

A new nonprofit thrift store in Edgewater hopes to benefit foster families, teen moms and battered women.

Currently located at 185 Mitchells Chance Rd., the Anne Arundel County Thrift Store is owned and operated by Life Renewed Corporation—an organization focused on helping people in need. Open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the shop offers a variety of items, and even gives away free clothing every Monday from 1-3 p.m.

Judy Poe, a manager at the shop, said the business will soon move to a new location at 179 Mitchells Chance Rd.

Poe said the shop takes all donations, accepts trades and even gives store credit for quality clothing that is in the appropriate season.

When the shop moves to its new location, they’ll have an additional donation center behind the store and a larger space to feature furniture.

Currently, the shop is filled with mostly clothing—including baby clothes, dresses, winter coats, jewelry and more.

If you’re looking to get rid of old clothes and want them to immediately help people in your community, check out the Anne Arundel County Thrift Store.
