Man Suffers Gunshot Wound to Leg
The circumstances surrounding the incident are under police investigation, according to a police department spokesman.
UPDATE (7:29 p.m.)—A man suffered a gunshot wound to his thigh Monday evening on the 1000 block of Friendship Lane in West River, according to Anne Arundel County Fire Department Lt. Cliff Kooser.
Kooser said the man, 40, suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries. Paramedics transported the man in a state police helicopter to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
Lt. Francis Tewey of the Anne Arundel County Police Department said southern district officers responded to "a reported shooting" at 6:12 p.m. Monday. Tewey said the circumstances surrounding the incident are still under police investigation.
Tewey said police had not determined whether the gunshot was accidental.
