Local Man Celebrates 100th Birthday
The Brightview Senior Living Center resident celebrated the big day alongside friends and local staff.

A local man celebrated his 100th birthday Wednesday alongside his friends and the staff of Brightview Senior Living Center in Edgewater.
Charles “Reggie” Dove was born on Jan. 9, 1913 in Birdsville, MD. As a 22-year-old, Dove married his wife Arita Brashears on Oct. 29, 1935, and the two stayed married for 76 years until Arita passed away in May 2012 at the age of 96.
Dove spent the early parts of his career working in a general store until later becoming a mail handler for the Naval Academy as a civilian—a job he held for 38 years.
Throughout this life, Dove has loved gardening and playing his guitar.

He was the sweetest person at brightview. He walked great, heard well and did whatever to help someone who needed it. I cant tell you how many times a resident fell and reggie would be right there trying to help them up .
