Harwood Fire Displaces 2, Causes $100K in Damages
It took about 25 firefighters one hour to quell the flames.
A house fire in Harwood caused an estimated $100,000 in damages Thursday night, as approximately 25 firefighters battled the flames, according to Lt. Cliff Kooser of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.
At about 9:30 p.m., firefighters received a report of a house fire on the 800 block of Harwood Road. Upon arrival, they found flames coming through the roof of a single-story rancher, Kooser said.
Approximately 25 firefighters battled the flames for about an hour before they got the blaze under control, Kooser said.
At least two people were displaced because of the fire, and investigators are still determining what caused the incident.
Kooser said the house’s smoke detectors were actively working when the fire began.
