(Earlier post): The M&T Bank at 3150 Solomons Island Rd. was robbed Friday morning. It was the second time in five weeks the bank was hit.
Police are on the scene at the bank, which is located next to Edgewater's Wawa convenience store at the entrance to the Southdown Shores neighborhood.
A witness said the robber fled on foot. Police canvased the area Friday morning attempting to find the man.
The witness said the robber held up the bank with a stocking over his head. Police have not yet confirmed to Edgewater Patch any details about the robbery, including how much, if any, money was taken.
In another incident at 2:30 p.m. on June 2, an undisclosed sum was taken from an M&T teller at the same bank when a robber indicated he had a weapon. That suspect also escaped on foot. Details and surveillance photos of that incident can be found here.
Edgewater Patch will update this story when details from Anne Arundel County Police become available.
