Adventures in South County: M Thai Kitchen

My first official "adventure" in south county starts at a local Thai hot-spot.

Thai restaurants are somewhat of a mystery to me.

I don't know if it's the cuisine itself, but it seems like every Thai place I go to just gets better and better. M Thai Kitchen in Edgewater was no exception.

My wife and I decided to have lunch there this past week and once again, I was blown away by the far-off nation's culinary brilliance.

We both started off with the deliciously sweet flavors of Thai iced tea. If you haven't tried it, stop reading and go get one. It's incredible. We skipped any appetizers even though M Thai Kitchen's spring rolls are heralded as second-to-none. Just ask the baristas at Kahve Cafe

Owned by Art and Mod Cockran, the local restaurant has a special day once a year where they give away spring rolls for free. No kidding. I'll definitely write an article when they announce the next giveaway.

I'm a big fan of pad see ew noodles, so I ordered a spicy plate of beef noodles. But when my plate arrived no more than 10 minutes later, the display of the dish caught my eye as much as its flavor. A bright orange "carrot flower" accompanied the various colors of the noodles. It was really quite a sight.

My wife ordered a chicken pad Thai dish that made her brow sweat with heat. She was glad to have the Thai iced tea nearby. The food was nothing short of brilliant and as someone who's still learning about the area, I was excited to learn there was a place like M Thai Kitchen nearby.

If you're looking for a break from traditional American cuisine and willing to venture into a welcoming atmosphere of heat and fiery noodles, M Thai Kitchen is your place.

Where should I go for my next "adventure?"

It would be helpful if you would include the address and phone number of the places you review.

All that information can be found by clicking "M Thai Kitchen" in blue letters. It links directly to the restaurant in our directory. Here is the link - http://edgewater.patch.com/listings/m-thai-kitchen

While you are trying restaurants in Edgewater, add to your list Saigon Palace on Mayo Road and try their "Pho"

M Thai Kitchen is an awesome place to eat! My favorite is the Pad Thai and Tom Yum Shrimp soup- so tasty! The staff make us feel like royalty and we always enjoy the experience!

We love M Thai and we love Art and Mod. We come down from Crofton when we want a Thai night. The food is amazing and the conversation from Art and Mod is always wonderful. They are such a sweet couple. The kids always order the Lad Nar and we love the Pad Kee Mao.
