Seventeen athletes from South River High recently announced their intentions to play for specific athletic programs at the collegiate level.
While most of the signees play for the boys or girls lacrosse teams, several other sports were represented when the Seahawks participated in National Signing Day last Wednesday.
Athletes from the school’s lacrosse, girls basketball, swimming, baseball and field hockey teams each announced their decisions to play for college programs, ranging from Florida to Oregon. The girls lacrosse team contained the most college commitments with 11, while girls basketball, baseball and field hockey had the fewest—one each.
Some of the more notable commitments involved the lacrosse programs. Standout boys lacrosse player Ben Chisolm is headed to the highly-ranked Maryland program, while Taylor Bresnahan and Bella Pyne are headed to Florida and Oregon respectively.
